I've been fortunate enough to work with some phenomenal managers in the past - people who have been truly formative in building me into the person I am today, investing time and energy into instilling company values, good work practice, and continued professional development in me. I’ve built my career in a variety of roles and categories, in both small companies and large corporations where I was not just a designer, but also a product developer, a fabric R&D specialist, a counter sourcing whiz, and a real multi-category fashion guru. I’m not only used to wearing many hats, I sincerely enjoy it; I thrive in an environment where no two workdays are exactly the same.
Combining my experience from my background in the retail as well as wholesale worlds I am fully able to understand product lifecycle management from all sides, as well as cost/margin constraints and how to create trend right and brand appropriate product within those guidelines. While being a creative and driven design leader; I am also a very focused on developing younger talent, expanding their understanding of the customer and brand, encouraging creativity, elevated design and establishing strong product and fit knowledge.
I'm currently a Senior Designer at White House Black Market and previously for Brooks Brothers, America's oldest clothing retailer.
Outside of my day job, I'm a surfer, scuba diver, and serious jig-saw puzzler. I volunteer assisting in scuba diving instruction at the YMCA as well as stay fit with kickboxing, swimming, and hiking. I'm a world traveler and adventure seeker who's passionate about ocean conservation and underwater photography.
The man or woman who gets killed is often the one who got nervous. The one who doesn't care anymore, who has said, "I'm already dead- the fact that I live or die is irrelevant and the only thing that matters is the accounting I give of myself," is the most formidable force in the world.
